Biolux Technology, developer of the FDA-cleared OrthoPulse near-infrared light therapy system, today announced promising preliminary results from an ongoing clinical evaluation conducted by Dr. Todd Dickerson, demonstrating significant improvements in the efficiency and predictability of Invisalign® treatment.
The preliminary analysis compared 23 consecutive Invisalign® cases treated with OrthoPulse to 22 consecutive Invisalign® cases treated without OrthoPulse within the same orthodontic practice.
Key Findings
The initial findings demonstrated substantial improvements across several clinically relevant endpoints:
21% fewer office visits (9 vs. 12)
55% shorter average treatment time (13 vs. 28 months)
25% fewer finishing aligners (24 vs. 33)
Fewer refinements (1.3 vs. 1.5)
In addition, while the OrthoPulse group began treatment with a similar number of initial aligner stages (28 vs. 30), the total number of aligner stages after refinements was significantly lower (52 vs. 62), further supporting improved treatment efficiency and predictability.
